Taking Action

To take action I am planning to send a letter to Mr Dunn the same way Frederick did. I will also tell him the amount of trees cut down each year to make paper. I hope I will succeed.

Getting Informed 2

Over the hoilidays I contacted Frederick Niellsen, who did this same project last year. He said that he emailed Mr Dunn informing him about how much paper is used and wasted by Cranbrook school. He also told him to make the daily news an email instead of using 30 pieces
of paper each day. He also told Mr Dunn of how to minimise the amount of paper used. Unfortunatly the daily notices have not yet become email which wastes more and more paper everyday when there is an alternate to get it to the teachers. This is where he finished I hope I can fufil my goal to minimise the amount of paper used at Cranbrook school.

Getting Informed

I am getting informed at the moment and I am surfing the net for different facts. This is what I found.
Nearly 4 billion trees worldwide are cut down each year for paper, representing about 35% of all harvested trees. Fortunately, many of the trees used for paper come from tree farms which are planted and replenished for that purpose. Pictured above is a NASA image of total vegetation in the western hemisphere where most paper is consumed. The US is the world's largest consumer of paper by far. This is just some of the info I found.
